Lion, Witch and the wardrobe

What is inside the wardrobe?

Bridging the gap between the Anglo Mythos of the script and the Meso-American Mythos of the production, my music is brash, heroic, and sometimes, scary.  Arizona Theater Awards Winner for Best Original Score.

Mesa Community College, Oct 2019

Dir by A. Runfola

The Phantom Tollbooth

Milo is so bored...

Inspired by Jazz, the music ranges from just piano, to a combo with trumpet and piano.

"The music and sound design ... echo the fun and adventurous shifts in tone throughout Milo's journey."

Talkin Broadway

Produced by Childsplay, Tempe AZ in 2017.

Directed by D. Hartford.

Honus and Me

The magic of dreams and baseball.

Honus and Me is the story of Joey Stoshack, who discovers Honus Wagner’s T-206 card while cleaning an elderly neighbor’s attic.  It turns out to be a time machine and transports Joey back to 1909, where he meets Honus Wagner.

Produced by Childsplay in 2008

Directed By D. Hartford

Flora and Ulysses

A Cynic and a Squirrel

Music for this production was influenced by Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, and 50's TV theme songs.

"Full of wonderfully creative touches... such as hearing a brief moment of Batman’s TV whirling, scene-changing theme.."   Valley Screen and Stage

Produced by Childsplay, Tempe AZ in 2018.

Dir by D. Hartford

Airness

Some tasty guitar licks...

AIRNESS is based upon the Air Guitar competitions around the US, culminating in the US Championship, then Worlds in Oulu, Finland

For this project, I created the EMCEE Voice overs, as well as the Dark Horse intro song.

Produced at The Phoenix Theater Company, 2019

Directed by Pasha Yamotahari

A Winkle in time

A Tesser-what?!

The music shifts between the dark and stormy, and joyous and loving parts of Meg's adventure.

"[The] fun, creepy music and sounds... have it nailed, inspiring lots of "oohs" and "ahs" from audience members of all ages" Phoenix New Times

Produced by Childsplay, Tempe AZ in 2013.

Directed by D. Hartford.

Misery

What if Misery was a person?

That's what starts the play, based on the S. King novel of the same name.  A two person intimate thriller that is harrowing, eerie, and downright scary.  One of my first original scores.  And I still like it.

Produced at San Jose Stage in 2003

Sideways stories from wayside school

Sideways stories...

Harkening back to the Theremin sci-fi theme songs of the 70's, this music is both fun and spooky at the same time.

"Even the sound effects... are comical, and often come with their own audio punchline." Valley Screen and Stage

Produced by Childsplay, Tempe AZ in 2015.

Directed by D. Hartford.

Robin Hood

Robin da Hood

A "modern" take on Robin Hood?  Sure!  So I asked, what IF Robin formed a Ska/Punk band, and played all the Medieval Classics?  Here's your answer....  Greensleeves will never be the same.

Produced by Childsplay, Tempe AZ in 2013.

Directed by D. Hartford.
